All For A Good Cause

Time to get down my rant box.

Being a father of several boys, seeing children suffer makes tears come down to my eyes.

I cannot say it enough how blessed I am with healthy children.

No matter how challenging things get, I am still blessed many times over compared to those that have nothing.

I want to bring up 2 great causes that have touch me lately.

If you don’t know Dr Manni, he is a heart surgeon who performs heart surgery to children in India who would otherwise die. Ian del Carmen is making a promotion you should consider getting on.

Internet Marketing Pimps Go Away

Phew, just unsubscribed to another internet Marketing Pimp

Never fails some person who made it to the IM limelight comes up with a new and fangdangle product and every IM Pimp is pushing it like a drug dealer.

This time around the Nemesis Scam, I took a peek of this product and I would run away, on the surface this looked interesting but underneath its another scam to get you to sign up for a membership that has no balls to it.

The past perpetrators of membership scams have setup these membership sites empty with promises of content on the horizon with there groupies repeating the mantra this guy is on important projects and has stuff in the pipeline just hang in there.

Well I have investigated their scams and this is just that, they might have done well on other projects but have failed miserably in producing results for their members shame on them. Because in todays economy these individuals are preying on the newbie. I get contacted daily by many that have fallen for these predators and the story reads the same.

In many cases the individual who has fallen for the slick copy and the moving of the free line are those chasing a silver bullet. Well there is no silver bullet. Its call business and business has run for many centuries without the internet. The internet is only a vehicle for carrying out a message, bottom line its about providing value.

Speaking of moving of the free line, lately the free line is all these products have, many of these products have no depth other than the free line.

All that anyone really wants is something that works, they want the tools to make their job easier being in business.

Link Love Not for Sissies you got to love this

As I was looking around the net for what others are saying about linking, I ran across this blog post that says it all from Build a Better Blog.

Most of the individuals I consult with are only looking for self interest in their linking building campaigns. My mantra has always been to give the best visitor value you can.

If this means you have to be transparent with how you do business then so be it.

By providing honest content for your visitors whether it is from you or pointing to other sources you are being genuine in being helpful. I find most readers are just looking for the honest person they can tune into and eliminate the noise.

So as I said this great post I found says it all about honesty about todays business model and I am confident with my own business model linking out to others and you will continue to come back and read.

Content+Keywords+Links=Traffic=$$$$?

Human behavior never ceases to amaze me.

People looking to make a million dollars with a investment of pennies. Everyday droves of people take to the internet with gold in their eyes.

I believe it was the great P.T. Barnum of the Ringling Brothers Circus who is associated with the saying a sucker is born every minute.

Has internet maketing turned into a Circus?

Really the concept of a business is as old as the hills, but why are people having such a miserable time at it.

The best I can see from having SEO consulting sessions with my clients is
FOCUS and a Business System.

Also the wrong expectations, I had a discussion lately with a potential client latey who thinks by developing a linking campaign this will directly equal to money. Somehow he has forgotten a few missing pieces of the equation.

Links do not equal to money, value and a relationship will.

Individuals are investing money in ways that either make them broke or discourage them from succeeding.

A internet business is pretty much a cookie cutter operation.

You pick a niche that has a hungry crowd for your product that are willing to pay you

Next you setup your store (website)

Present them with the offer

Start promoting your store to get traffic.

Its no different than setting up a brick and mortar business, problem is very few understand their market.

You need to provide your customer value, a reason to buy from you instead of the other website selling similar goods.

By focusing on this concept instead of chasing the next fad being promoted by the internet circus will make you money not the next gimmick.

So when setting up your website the combination is pretty simple.

Content+Keywords+Links=Traffic

Next it is up to you to provide the value to the person visiting your website.

Think about this would you buy from yourself?

authority links & link building & one way linking 28 Jun 2008 07:27 am

Bargain Hunting For Links :)

I have to chuckle when someone wants to do a linking campaign and when you drop the price on them their eyes bug out of their heads.

The typical response is but I can get a 100 links for $25 or some ridiculous price like that. This is all and fine but what exactly are you buying.

Buying those cheap links puts you in the same bucket as the other million people you are competing with and your doing a linking campaign to separate yourself from the herd. HMMM!

I kind of put this type of linking in the same category as here for $10 lets us give you 10 million hits to your site, many times its a bot hitting the site but in all its a scam.

I am not saying these linking companies are scams but what quality are you adding to your linking campaign. The bottom line to this is to get visitors to your sites so you can convert them period.

As one Internet Marketer says I don’t care what Google says all I care is what Chase Manhattan Banks says about my bank account.

So the amount of time you search around to get the best deal on your links for out sourcing you could of taken many of the free tools out there and done the same linking as they promise at the click of your finger, why pay them when you can do the same.

Because all these services offer is either links to Web Directories or Book Marking.

I am not saying these links don’t work what I am saying is that you can do the same if you are shopping around for price. Especially when you have more time than money.

Now if you took these services and had them create multiple accounts and dripped these same book marking links from diffferent accounts in random times, now you have a powerful linking procedure because the part of bookmarking that carries weight is that others are bookmarking to the same site.

Just having one bookmarking link to your site has very little weight in the report card that Google keeps on you.

What separates my service from these low end bookmarking sites, is that I post content to multiple social networking sites NOTICE WHAT I SAID “SOCIAL NETWORKING” not bookmarking sites. Also I provide a custom solution, one size does not fit all. Not every place to link fits every person.

The content is keyword rich and in many cases the sites I use are not open to the public, they have the same weight as if someone placed a oneway link on their site as oppose to the free for all sites open to the public.

When I look at my stats many times the sites I use the links get listed and ranked in Google in minutes. In addition I see traffic actually hitting the website I am promoting also in minutes.

So please if you are a bargain hunter with little thought other than your pocket book and you are not getting results you are looking I use a saying which I think fits the situation “Its hard to put a shine on a sneaker”

Don’t get me wrong if your limited in funds don’t waste your money instead learn to get those quality backlinks develop your own network and over time the results will show.

By the way my favorite places for quality backlinks are

Social networking
Author contributed Blogs
Article marketing to publishers instead of article directories

Each of these methods require content, content is king and bookmarking is luke warm going the same path as reciprocal linking soon.

If you want to know more contact me either at

dxkindustries@yahoo.com
or
pick up the phone and call ask for Ed

I just finished a special for how I got indexed and ranked for multiple links in 3 Minutes with traffic visiting the website in about 5-6 minutes later.

Ego and SEO

There is concept that is floating around in the SEO world about high search rankings that I have had to tangle with lately with several people that want either consulting work or tutoring.

Seems they have no connection of high rankings or actual traffic to their websites.

Getting ranked for hard to rank keywords is all great but if they do not convert to actual clicks what good are they other than it stroked your ego, look at the high ranking keywords I am ranked for (pat on the back mentality)

What actually counts is how many clicks to your website did these keywords actually generate for you. I find the majority of people use keyword phrases that actually have meaning and value to a searcher. Keywords that actually addresses a need immediately.

This all starts with tracking software that shows live links showing you the actual search engine results. Software like this will show you what triggered the click when they saw your rankings in the search engines.

I had a tax relief site up which ranked about #81 for a specific keyword, a person had found the site using this particular keyword phrase and remained on the web site for about 45 mins clicking through every page multiple times. Tell me this person was not motivated in their search for information. The sad thing my client had refused to add any means to sell something or collect even names missing out on opportunity every time a motivated person came to visit.

Bottom line what counts is actual click through to your webpages once someone finds you real people buy things ego’s don’t

LIES LIES AND MORE LIES THERE IS NO SILVER BULLET

As I talk to people who are getting started and even many who have been at this for a while, I can’t believe what they tell me about their experiences in attempting to make money on the internet.

Where do people get this information, no wonder the scammers are making out with these letters that get sent out stating I have a million dollars waiting for you from a long lost relative.

I agree the internet is the last level playing field one can make a living and have a presence the same as big corporation with the minimal investment.

The only investment I see with people is the investment of common sense to succeed.

Really are all the people I see scrambling to make a buck have they all lost there common sense!

Just the other night, someone told me in order to get paid by clickbank you must make 4 sales and it must be at least have 2 sales with a mastercard and 2 with a visa.

COME ON who is passing this BS around, I simply put it to that person that you mean if you made 1000 sales with a master card click bank won’t pay you till you have 2 visa card sales, honestly this was told to me.

I continually have conversations with people who dream they are going to make a product and get zillioins of people to do a Joint Venture and be a millionaire overnight.

First a word of advice you need to be able to sell your own product before asking anyone to do your selling for you, if your sales letter can’t get anyone to buy how do you expect anyone else to sell from a sales letter that does not convert. Again common sense out the door, actually if you believe this get out, get out now you will never be successful till you get it.

The other one I get a chuckle is

if I do this or that will Google ban me, I wonder how this fear got spread around

Actually I know its the black hat community that taught many in the day when Google was not so smart how to game Google, well today that is a different story, good luck black hatters Google is on to you.

Getting back to getting banned by Google if you are not doing anything wrong why worry.

A lesson to anyone reading, if you are going to invest anytime doing a real business go white hat, I learned a long time ago if I had invested in growing my business instead of trying to mess with Google my efforts today would be light years ahead.

The other thing, treat your business like a business.

This is a practice that is centuries old, the internet is not any different.

As James Brausch says only 2% are ever going to make it, the rest need to go back to there job you will never make it chasing a silver bullet. The formula to success is real easy, in fact to easy this is why almost everyone never gets it.

DAH! What is missing is a system.

I haven’t been updating this blog lately because I am busy, busy developing software that people can actually use.

While I was doing research for my next new project, it finally dawned on me why my software has taken off through the roof.

People lack systems, and my software provides a system for them to successful.

Lets face it business has been around for 1,000’s of years and its basically a rinse and repeat process.

Its really a boring process, but rewarding.

As one of my mentors James Brausch has pointed out in his blog that hits the nail on the head
are-your-business-systems-creating-freedom-or-defending-slavery,
this blog is has now been moved for the latest information go to jamesbrausch.org.

If you can’t stand the truth or your feelings get hurt easily don’t waste your time, as James puts it only 2% will ever climb above mediocrity the rest are losers until they decide to take action. I may not agree all the time with James, but until I have earned the right to do otherwise, listen to the people who have been in the pits and come out winning.

Another person I admire is Armand Morin. In particular his latest video’s I learned alot about putting together a few simple systems for generating incremental income. Again a system.

What I am getting at is everywhere I go I see droves of people just lost in the desert, looking for the silver bullet. Well even thou that silver bullet is a quick fix, it disappears as quick as it came and then your back to where you started.

Put a system in place to generate incremental income day in and day out with multiple streams of income. All the great entrepreneurs do so why should you be any different. Again learn from the successful.

I have put in place a new website that is getting ready for launch that is going to put systems in place.

Link Building Carousel For Link Building On Steroids!

Today I checked out a different kind of web 2.0 link building technique while I was reading the Friday Traffic Report by Jack Humphrey it was started by Alex over at HowtoSpoter.com. This link building will definitely build up your incoming links if you use it.

Follow the directions below and make sure you do it right. Might take a minute to see what’s going on, this viral link building can have a powerful affect on any blog.

Thanks to Alex for starting this genius link building campaign!

— copy and paste the Reciprocal Review Carousel and instructions below this line —

Reciprocal Review Carousel idea is based on a few simple yet effective link-building and blogging techniques I have learned:

  • Build value of the blog by creating a helpful link from within content.
  • Provide value to community by doing a review on a blog you personally like.
  • Link to YOUR blog has exact anchor text you want and helps you boost Google Rankings.
  • No more than 30 outbound links from any page to prevent penalties for link farming.
  • Viral effect of the link – as more bloggers participate, link to your blog with YOUR anchor text, coming from quality content post will spread.

Here is How to participate:

  • Copy the entire text between the specified lines.
  • Create a post on your site and put at least one paragraph explaining how you joined the Reciprocal Review Carousel.
  • Paste the text you copied into your post.
  • Remove the Bottom Review and At the Top add your own review with a link to a site reviewed, at least 2 sentences about the site and a note – Reviewed by: Your Anchor Text. Link your anchor text to your site. Here is an example:

Blog Syndication - Blogrush

Today I have added a new widget to the blog, Blogrush. Look on the right at the bottom you will see the widget being displayed

This is something that John Reese has come up as a free traffic tool from income.com.

Blogrush is a blog viral syndication tool to generate traffic. The jury is out if traffice will be generated from this syndication tool. Its a fairly simple concept and very easy to install.

Its viral in the sense that you invite your blogging friends to join and your earn syndication credits or the right to have your blog listed in the widget multiple times each day. So the more people see your pages the more times your blog is showed. This includes all the peoples credits as well added to your credits.

Supposingly there is 50,000,000 blogs out there so its possible for your blog to be looked at by many people.

If this new widget starts generating traffic for me I will let you know.

New SEO Launch out there or is it

Lately I have been following a new launch for SEO.

I have to admit they are doing well in a very competitive market.

But one thing the general public is missing out is age of domains. Given some time and diligence in doing something each day towards the off page factors like getting backlinks and driving traffic thru Web 2.0 social sites anyone can get to the top 10.

If you investigate how old the golf site is I feel anyone can get similar results.

There is only 2 things any website has to do within reason is on page factors and off page factors. This is a daily thing that a true business must do. Setting up a website working hard on it and forgetting it does not work. What does work is showing Google your site is growing in many ways. I truly believe to become an authority site a website has to demonstrate it is an authority just by being persistent.

Lets face it, any business in order to be successful must do something to promote itself. Without some form of promotion you die, unless you happen to stumble upon something so unique just word of mouth gets you more customers than you can handle. This only happens occasionally, most of us have to work at it the old way, roll up our sleeves.

Here is a nugget that is overlooked so much is getting indexed. I see this all over the internet, I understand why this happens if you don’t know why.

I am going to let you in on a big secret for getting your website indexed, behave like a blog. Yes behave like a blog. If you insist on setting up a website instead of a blog, then behave like a blog. This will get you indexed in less than 24 hours in most instances.

Study what is different in a blog and a website and imitate sucess.

The Bait Has Been Laid In The Water

I just finished reading James Jackson report for How To Influence, Persuade & Captivate Your Way To An Online Business Fortune it was only $.05 how could I lose. I am just passing the link on no affiliation to this. Normally I don’t bother with these reports heard it all. What triggered me was his squeeze page that interested me to see what makes this marketer tick. I suspect the squeeze page I saw will be the rage to come.

Well be warned James makes it very clear you will never see marketing or watch TV, Video’s ever the same when you read what he has to say, this was no small report a 110 pages long no fluff new stuff.

Well what brings me to writing today was what this report changed me.

You all have seen this area51 video that has been plastered and slowly launced on the internet if your on anyones list.

Seeing this last video it finally dawned on me how the bait has been set into the water. We are put in awe of how great this golf site is doing and competing with the top golf companies in the world etc…. Wake up if I remember right this site was started in 2004. This is a mature site that has been nutured and has lots behind it.

This last video shows how its so important to get the right links and you need to make sure these are the best places to get them, well after having my mind awaken I could see right through what is being laid down for the unsuspecting. We are slowly being convinced they have the secret sauce so listen up, once we make this available we are going to offer this at some outrageous price and make it scarce.

I wonder if this setup is going to be another million dollar day, since all the big gurus are behind it. What a setup for the unsuspecting.

Look its about getting backlinks good backlinks no question about that.

I subscribe to what James Brausch says about building webpages

20% is your Domain name
40% is your on page factors
40% is your off page factors (one way linking) maybe more lately since this is the year of backlinks

But use your head a little here.

You need one way back links that are themed for your content.

That is not hard to do one way back links abound every where, but its hard work and time consuming. Its no secret.

But if you want to cut the work down and tap into one way backlinks for much, much less than what is available out there stay tuned.

You can even contact me and get into the early stages and be exposed to it early be first on the block to access what I offer.

Now my bait has been laid.

Is a Internet Business a Business

I received an email today from a very insightful individual who knows how think on his feet, John Vito Caviani.

John has nothing new or earth shattering to say other than business today still functions today like it has functioned for centuries.

Here is the reality about business and the internet ready.

The Internet is a Tool.

It’s a fantastic tool, but it’s not a business.

Here is the meat of what John has to say

Business is, and always has been, about a relationship of value between a customer and a supplier or vendor.

Real Marketing can be broken down into 3 parts:

1. a set of processes for creating value for customers.

2. a set of processes for communicating value to customers.

3. a set of processes for delivering value to customers.

Most people using the internet as a tool do not do all three.

Beyond that, there are only three ways to grow a business:

1. Increase the size of a transaction with your customer.

2. Increase the number of customers.

3. Increase the frequency of transactions with current
customers.

So, business is business. It has functioned the same way for
thousands of years and will continue to function the same way
well into the future. There is no such thing as an internet
business.”

Now what John is saying is nothing new, these words have been the mantra for many of the most successful businessman of time. So setting up your internet business consider these wise words that never go out of style. They worked in the past as they do today and will continue to do so in the future.

It’s never the tool that makes you succeed its the person using the tool that succeeds.

Consider the internet a tool.

What is the truth in SEO

I read an interesting piece the other day from Leslie Rohde about human behavior and how it carries out to the Web for SEO. It all starts out with “people reporting their own poorly documented experience which someone else then takes as gospel and repeats as fact. Naturally, these are just unfounded rumors, they are conflicting and overlapping, and in many cases don’t make any sense at all, but are fervently defended as truth by their proponents.”

There is so much unfounded SEO techniques out there that get repeated and repeated that don’t work. In many cases people just don’t know enough and have to cling to something out of desperation looking to make it on the internet.

Unfortuantely this stuff is self perpetuating and ultimately sinks many who want to make on the internet.

The good thing about this is that it creates opportunity for those who are willng to wade thru all the old wife’s tales and seek out the truth. This field is wide open.

I have create just one of those opportunities to help you uncover what works and does not work.

I have created a free SEO trial for on page factors for you if you dare find out about the truth. Check it out what do you have to lose.

I know it works because recently one of my clients in just a few short weeks is getting actual visits from highly competitive search terms from Google on a daily basis and growing each day. What I do today is a result of actual testing for what really works.

Search Engines & Website Developement 15 Jul 2007 07:41 am

Robots.txt file do it upfront

Just the other day I setup a new website for my client and was getting incredibly fast indexing in Google. All I had up was a page or two. As I was developing the site for the client several of the things that I uploaded after indexing was all the legal items such as privacy policies, terms of service and earnings disclaimers.

Not realizing how fast Google was crawling and indexing this new website my tracking started revealing all the legal pages within its index. The one thing I had forgotten to add to the website is making sure my robots.txt file was present. A very simple thing to do, but important.

The robots.txt file instructs almost all robots how you wish to crawl your website. This is in particular important if you wish not to reveal folders that are suppose to be hidden from the public such as any folder that your selling products etc. Another use if your using programs to automate your website and the programs put the bot in a loop that it cannot get out of and stops crawling the important pages you wish to have crawl because its stuck.

Intructions for making a robots.txt file are all over the web. Its a simple text file that is uploaded to your root directory on the hosting account of the website. Inside the file is looks something like this

User-agent: *
Disallow: /cgi-bin/
Disallow: /images/
Disallow: /tmp/
Disallow: /private/

After placing this robots.txt file within days Google started to not show the files I did not want to show. So get this up in the initial stages before Google starts crawling your website.
